Want an allergen free outdoor space? Use our tips or give us a call

The pollen levels this summer have been way above the usual, and we definitely still need that Vitamin D! When the weather finally cools down just a bit, and it's not miserably hot outside, you’ll want to kick back on your outdoor furniture without worrying about pollen sticking all over your clothes.

Cleaning your outdoor furniture doesn’t have to mean grabbing those big-name chemical bottles you find online. If you prefer a more natural approach—kind of like we do at Tidying by Kimberly May—try this: mix half a cup of dish soap, one cup of white vinegar, and a gallon of warm water in a bucket. Easy, right?

Usually, it can be about a week before you get a good stretch of nice weather to enjoy your outdoor space. During that time, pollen, bird droppings, or even tree sap from your yard’s trees can build up on your furniture. These buildup spots might stain if you’re not careful. For those darker stains, spray a 50/50 solution of warm water and white vinegar directly on the spot. Let it sit for about 5 to 10 minutes, then scrub gently with a sponge or an old rag. Depending on how stubborn the stain is, you might need to put in a little elbow grease or give it extra time for the solution to work.

Just because the weather's nice doesn’t mean you want to be scrambling with cleaning supplies the day before your day off! We’re here to help make it easier. Feel free to email us at tidyingbykimberlymay@gmail.com with the number of outdoor furniture pieces you want cleaned or the size of your outdoor space. We’ll find a convenient time to come by and give everything a nice refresh so you can truly enjoy your time outside—no stress involved!
